Graeme is a keen EV grinner who loves converting cars to EV. The more unusual the better. His business has converted many different models and helped owners do their own conversions - hence the DIY in the business name. The aim of OZ-DIY EV is to upcycle older cars and EVs that might ordinarily go to scrap for recycling. He also uses many new components as well as importing quality motors, cells, etc. from countries overseas. His first EV was a 1989 Suzuki Swift which he has driven daily since 2008.
Some notable conversions he helped with are a Model T, Mazda RX8, several VW Kombis and a Lotus 7 kit car.
He also repairs and services factory EVs, as well as sourcing damaged EVs for recycling of parts. Currently Graeme is developing replacement battery packs for older Mitsubishi iMiEVs which will be better than the factory replacement packs. Other upcoming projects are replacement Nissan leaf packs, and a direct drop-in kit for fitting Tesla motors into later model Suzuki Swifts.
